Well we’re still here …..Texas, I mean ….. although in theory we should be returning to England in August. But nothing is settled so I am still attempting to run Peggotty from the U.S. with the bulk of the bears in England. Not the best of ideas but it’s been sort of working itself out.
Once we know we are definitely coming home I will start booking the bear fairs again and be able to get out and see most of you once more. If we don’t come back … if fate has it mapped out that Texas is our home for the foreseeable future … then all the bears currently in England will be coming over here.
I cannot continue to run Peggotty by having stock in storage in the UK, only returning once or twice a year to do the Hugglets show and then putting them back in storage. If for no other reason than collectors obviously assume that a bear is ‘not good’ if it hasn’t been sold in a long while.
The truth is that with the bears being in England I cannot get good images of them to put on the website and without a good image no bear (or anything else) will ever sell.
So I’m putting something to you now ………….
If there is a bear that has caught your eye; If bear is in England and you, too, are in England; If you would like to discuss longer terms or a ‘creative way’ of financing your bear I am absolutely prepared to discuss it with you and to work something out before he is packed up and shipped out here to meet the American collectors.
This applies especially to the BIG boys (and girls) such as Lowry, Betsy Ross, Confidante of an English Lady, Pennsylvanian Townhouse, Darwin, Brunel et al. They are all FABULOUS bears. All bears that will stay in a family and pass down from generation to generation. They are so much better than their photographs suggest. And for the time being I am prepared to offer them at hugely extended credit terms to make them accessible to those of you who have held them and drooled over them this past year.
I beg you to not pass up on this opportunity to own some of the biggest and best Portobello bears made. Nothing would make me happier than if you emailed me and said “….… remember me? I was the person who fell in love with Confidante at the Hugglets show ……..”
N.B. The extended financing does, of course, extend to our American collectors too ……… :0)
