For new visitors to the site – let me introduce Peggotty to you. Peggotty was established in Shrewsbury, England for almost 11 years – 7 of them being under my ownership. Our reputation was built on having the very best artist bears and I take tremendous pride in every single bear that Peggotty carries. I handpick all the characters. I’m not a natural ‘sales’ person and the only way I can ‘sell’ something is if I personally love it to pieces. So, if you hear me wildly enthusing over a particular bear on our site you know it is because I am genuinely in awe and love it to pieces!

Peggotty specialises in PORTOBELLO BEARS - a fact of which I am inordinately proud. I love Portobello Bears. I love their faces, I love their clothing, I love their fabrics, I love the care and devotion and deliberation that goes in to each and every character. And I love working with Amy and Rori.
All Portobello Bears carried by Peggotty are definite 1-offs and cannot be repeated. To this end, if you fall wildly in love DO talk to me about how best you can buy … I will do everything in my power to help make it happen for you.
I’ve always had the softest of spots for BURLINGTON BEARTIES, in particular their bunnies and cats so enjoy looking at their special page too.

The bears are handmade, using cotter joints, glass eyes and a
variety of fillings including pellets.
